Baby Face

My lot in life is looking young.

I have been repeatedly told that someday I am going to love looking so much younger than I am, but right now it is really irritating. No twenty four year old wants to be mistaken for a high school student. It bothered me when it was one of the reasons I didn't get a job I really wanted. It was mildly annoying when I was asked by every other person who came into the college bookstore where I worked if I had just gotten accepted. Now that I've ended up in the thick of things with local politics, it's embarrassing and I've got to put an end to it.

1. I need to perfect some simple, mature hairstyles and be good about styling it everyday.

2. I also need to learn how to contour with makeup.

3. I should probably also become a morning person again so I have time to do all of these things.

For those interested in trying to accomplish those things as well, here's a great article I found awhile back and obviously haven't implemented yet: Become a Morning Person: 8 Tips from a Former Night Owl

The first five are great, but I don't know about the next two. The whole point of me trying this is so I can be a little vain so people will take me seriously for once. It's not that I don't like who I am, it's that who I am doesn't really look the part of the things I like doing. I need to find balance and I can't do it if I don't have time to primp.

That brings me to the vicious cycle of the next one, which is staying up late. I'm big on family dinners because my dad was never home to eat with us at dinner time and it eventually became everyone making their own frozen food whenever they wanted to eat. I hated that and I swore it would never happen in my household. My boyfriend and I live together and his schedule requires him to stay at work until late. Nights are the only time we have to spend together and it's always been my belief that I would sacrifice primping and whatever else from my morning to make the most of it.

I guess it's all about finding balance. I'll just have to play around with it until I figure out what works for me.

Anyone who has any tips, tutorials, or links for makeup contouring and cute, mature hairstyles is more than welcome to leave them in the comments. Please and thank you!
